I couldn’t go to prom and resist doing a blogpost…who’d have guessed it. It seems my social media has also been flooded with prom pictures too but I mean, how often is it that you get to dress up and wear a fancy dress for the night? In my case, almost never. I love to do an ‘outfit of the day’ post every now and then so I thought why not throw in an outfit of the night and a few pictures of the night. I LOVE snooping at other people’s prom pictures, I’m not sure why but I just find it so exciting.
The dress I wore was from American brand Xcite, I’d thoroughly recommend them as the variety of dresses they offer is INSANE and you are almost certain to find one that is very you. From the very start I always had my heart set on a white prom dress, call me boring but I just find it much easier in terms of matching makeup with it and what not. I discovered this dress which I believe was from a previous collection, potentially prom 2015, and fell in love. I liked the detailing of the mesh and while it was slightly more daring than anything I would normally wear, I just knew I had to get it.
I then paired this with a rose gold Jasper Conran clutch. I was tempted to go for a bold bright statement clutch but as the dress was quite classic looking I didn’t think this would go particularly well and decided that a metallic colour might work better.
As my dress had an open back, I chose to have my hair up (I pretty much resemble an egg when my hair is down anyway). My hair was done by the lovely Sophie at Clipso. If you ever need a hair-up, Clipso is for sure the place to go.
I won’t go into specific makeup details as this is an outfit post however, I settled for a burgundy and gold smokey eye with some winged liner and a nude lip.
That’s about it really!
