Having been home from the Domincan Republic for nearing a week, I felt it was about time that I did a post about it. I’ve titled this post the ‘Dominican Detox’ because that really is what it was. The several weeks leading up to the day I went away were undoubtedly some of the hardest of my life and I know everyone says they ‘need a holiday’ but I really did. Crap aside, this made me have an even better time away as feel like I appreciated it more than I would have done otherwise.
I didn’t do a great deal this holiday and took the time to really relax, enjoy the sun and listen to my favourite music for days on end – my idea of the perfect detox. Morning walks watching sunrise at 6am were bliss although I won’t sugar coat it too much – it did make me grumpy later in the day. I feel like the photos I got were totally worth it though, and there really is nothing like walking along a beach when there is almost nobody else there.
Our hotel had a sports bar where we watched the Olympics which is one of the things I particularly enjoyed doing along with various restaurants and bars that we ate in (I forgot to take photos in the majority of those) so it really was just a great opportunity to chill.
I guess the main idea of this post was to just share some photos and document them for my own memories too. I know I love reading holiday blog posts so I hope you enjoyed this too.
